Ask our team a question ↗01What is Apronfold, and who is it for?
Apronfold is a hospitality consulting and training business with an app for restaurant teams. It brings daily learning, menu and allergen search, tastings, documents, training plans, and checklists into one place, with tools that help managers see where the team needs support.
02Does the restaurant pay, or does each employee need a subscription?
The restaurant pays for team access; employees do not purchase their own individual subscriptions. Each location includes up to 50 active team members, including managers. Archived accounts do not count toward the allowance. Reactivating an account counts it toward the limit again; you do not need to delete an account to free up a space. Contact us for a quote if you need more than 50 active accounts.
03How much does the app cost?
Apronfold costs $99 per location per month, billed monthly, or $990 per location per year, billed annually. The annual option saves $198 compared with 12 monthly payments—the equivalent of two months free. Both options include up to 50 active team members, including managers. Prices are in USD. Optional assisted setup starts at $250; consulting is quoted separately.
04What can my team learn?
Teams can learn Wine, Beer, Spirits, Allergies & Diets, Business, and their restaurant’s Employee Manual. Each section has lessons and a quiz that shows what is not read yet, ready, and mastered. Staff can also take Beginner, Medium, and Expert quizzes, practice guest scenarios, review missed answers, and complete a one-try, five-question pre-shift quiz drawn from the menu, allergies, and Employee Manual.
05Can we add our own menu, handbook, and logo?
Yes. Each restaurant has a private, invite-only space with its own name and logo. Managers can paste or upload a menu, create a menu quiz, build an Employee Manual from a handbook, manage checklists and training plans, and share documents such as handbooks and floor charts. Staff can search dishes, ingredients, and allergens; every result shows whether it is confirmed by a manager, and a blank result always means ask the kitchen. The “without” filter shows only manager-confirmed dishes, and each restaurant can edit the allergy reminder sent with a ticket.
06How do employees join, and who controls access?
Team members join using an invitation code. Managers can view the roster, cancel invitations, restore or archive employees, and manage granular permissions. Apronfold prevents a person from granting themselves more access.
07What can managers track?
Managers see today’s pre-shifts, sign-offs waiting, and allergen review. A team roster shows training, pre-shift, and accuracy, while deeper views cover weak spots, tasting coverage, and checklist history and overview. They can set who is working today so the pre-shift counts only people on shift. A weekly email brings together the team’s progress.
08Will Apronfold be available in the App Store?
An App Store release is next for Apronfold. Contact us for current availability and help getting your restaurant started.
09Can we see the app before deciding?
Get in touch to arrange a walkthrough and discuss your restaurant’s needs. The app also supports guest quizzes without an account, so you can get a feel for the learning experience.
10How does consulting work, and is it included with the app?
App access and consulting are separate offerings. Contact Shawn to discuss your goals, the scope of the work, and a consulting quote. If you’re interested in both, we can discuss them together.
